Who Am Us, Anyway?

Kevin
Spencer began programming in the C language in the early 1990's,
during which time he developed a number of shareware programs for BBS's
(Bulletin Boards), using serial communications (modem) technologies, as well
as custom-built relational databases. As the Worldwide Web sprang into
popular use, he shifted his emphasis to Internet programming. Microsoft was
just beginning to release some of its' (now) most-popular Active Web
programming technologies, such as ASP. Net,
ASP (Active Server Pages) and ADO (ActiveX Data Objects).
Seeing the promise in these technologies, Kevin started his Internet Web
application programming business, TAKempis Internet Programming,
in 1996. By virtue of the fact that he had specialized in such a new technology, combined with his low-level C programming experience, he quickly became known as something of an expert regarding these technologies, and for his contributions to helping others to use these technologies, Microsoft has awarded him the MVP (Most Valuable Professional) award, starting in 1997. Since that time, Kevin has worked for several different companies, most recently Dynamic Systems Integration (Miradyne Division) in Virginia Beach, VA. He has done many different types of Microsoft .Net programming, including ASP. Net applications, Windows applications, Class and Control libraries, Windows Services, Web Services, and even a Managed Direct3D 9 Situational Awareness application for small aircraft pilots that displays terrain and other environmental data to a pilot of an aircraft using GPS and USGS data sets. Some of these can be downloaded from the Miradyne web site where several class libraries and a .Net Printing and Reporting application are being publicly beta-tested for release late this year or early next year.
Most recently, Kevin has written several articles for the msdn.microsoft.com web site. Kevin currently lives in Chesapeake, Virginia with his wife (the Princess Dianne), Uncle Chutney, Buffstrella the WonderDog, and Ollie the Westie. |

Kevin's
web site has carried a number of tutorials, articles, and Discussion Groups
for learning about ASP.Net, ASP and ADO for
over 9 years now. He has written for a number of online
publications, including Wrox Publications' ASP Today, as well as
co-authoring Wrox Publications'
